Agency, teleonomy and signal transduction in plant systems

چکیده

Abstract Plants are the basis of nearly all food chains. The evolutionary response to inevitable predatory and other contingent hazards has provided plants with remarkable regenerative plastic capabilities. Teleonomy been characterized as purposive, adaptive goal-directed behaviour. evidence that agents, they act purposefully, is indicated by numerous behaviours, most notably plasticity. Through recurrent information exchange, growing roots construct a dynamic niche bacterial fungal symbionts. Purposeful shoot plasticity enables responses abiotic biotic hazards, goal survival. Transgenerational inheritance furthers for sibling Teleonomic goals in growth use proprioception ensure successful tropic responses. Unlike animals acquire energy biotically, dependent solely on physical environment. Convergent evolution common may result from constraints unchanging laws. Phenotypic initially provides direction change. Our article indicates there features change additional those modern synthesis thus supports extended hypothesis.

Two-component systems in plant signal transduction.

In plants, two-component systems play important roles in signal transduction in response to environmental stimuli and growth regulators. Genetic and biochemical analyses indicate that sensory hybrid-type histidine kinases, ETR1 and its homologs, function as ethylene receptors and negative regulators in ethylene signaling. Two other hybrid-type histidine kinases, CKI1 and ATHK1, are implicated i...

Plant protein kinase families and signal transduction.

Enzymes of the eukaryotic protein kinase superfamily catalyze the reversible transfer of the gamma-phosphate from ATP to amino acid side chains of proteins. Protein kinase function can be counteracted by the action of phosphoprotein phosphatases. Phosphorylation status of a protein can have profound effects on its activity and interaction with other proteins. An estimated 1 to 3% of functional ...

Networking of phospholipases in plant signal transduction.

Phospholipases are activated in response to various cellular and environmental cues. Their activation can affect many cellular processes through their roles in signal transduction. Recent advances in the biochemical and molecular understanding of phospholipase D (PLD) have provided insights into potential networks of PLDs and other phospholipases in plants. PLDs are a family of heterogeneous en...

Signal transduction in the plant immune response.

Complementary biochemical and genetic approaches are being used to dissect the signaling network that regulates the innate immune response in plants. Receptor-mediated recognition of invading pathogens triggers a signal amplification loop that is based on synergistic interactions between nitric oxide, reactive oxygen intermediates and salicylic acid. Alternative resistance mechanisms in Arabido...

Emerging themes of plant signal transduction.

The successful existence of all higher organisms is dependent upon their ability to coordinate complex developmental changes and to sense and respond to fluctuations in their surroundings. Responses to developmental and environmental cues occur by stimulus-response coupling: a stimulus is perceived by the cell, a signal is generated and transmitted (signal transduction), and a biochemical chang...
